Each year the Society of Authors makes a number of Eric Gregory Awards for "British poets under 30 who show outstanding talent". In 1997 three of the six awards were won by writers living in the city of Oxford, and Singularities has been published to accompany readings from their work.
The anthology gathers together poems already published in magazines, poetry journals and literary reviews, or broadcast on the radio, with newer work.

Readings

The first reading will be on Sunday January 25th, 1998, at the Jericho Café, at 8.30pm, under the auspices of Poetic Licence. We hope also to read at the Oxford Festival and within the University.

Mail order

Although you should be able to order the book from any UK bookshop (it's listed in Whittaker's Books In Print), unless you live locally (and can visit, say, Blackwell's) it's probably easiest to get hold of Singularities by mail order. The postal address is:

The Hubble Press
3 Cripley Road
Oxford OX2 OAH
United Kingdom

Because of the cost of postage and packing, price depends on where you live:

Within the UK: £3.50 (sent second class)

Elsewhere in the European Union: £4.00 (air mail at printed paper rate)

USA and most other countries: £5.00 (air mail at printed paper rate)

Please either send an IMO in pounds sterling or a sterling cheque payable to P. R. Clark (using this exact form of Polly's name, please, as the Hubble Press bank account requires it).

Publication of this book was made possible by a generous grant from Southern Arts, the southern England division of the Arts Council of Great Britain.
